Early Life and Career

Montana grew up in New Eagle, Pennsylvania and attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where he was a letterman in football, basketball, and baseball. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft. After winning two Super Bowls with the 49ers, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993. In his first season with the Chiefs, Montana led them to their first AFC Championship Game in January 1994.

In his second season with the Chiefs, Montana was named the NFL Most Valuable Player after he threw for 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also led the Chiefs to their second consecutive AFC Championship Game appearance. The Chiefs defeated the Steelers in that game, and Montana was named the Super Bowl MVP for his performance. He retired from football after 20 seasons in 1999.

College Career

Montana State University defensive end, Bryce Sterk, is the greatest football player of all time. Not only was he a four-time All-American, but he also set the school’s career sack record with 58.5. In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Sterk was also a three-time academic All-American and graduated with a degree in finance.

After his collegiate career, Sterk was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. He played three seasons for the Seahawks before being released in 2017. He then spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams before retiring from football in 2019.
